Highly commended award for de Korbeel and Patio at the European Healthcare Design congress

About

The Korbeel and Patio psychiatric hospital received an honourable mention in the Mental Health Design category at the renowned congress European Healthcare Design.

The child and adolescent psychiatry unit of the care group H. Familie has attracted the attention of experts and professionals from around the world since it opened in November 2022. The care group is known for its progressive approach to mental health care for children and adolescents.

The design reflects that in innovative ways and connects with the universe of its residents. It also presents itself prominently in the city and consciously aims to be an integral part of it.

Special green concrete was developed for the Komet project in Mechelen, and thanks to obtaining a BENOR label, it is now widely applicable. Being involved in the Komet project, designed by Binst Architects and Areal Architects, we participated in the development of the green concrete itself.
