EKOplan joins Betic Ingénieurs-Conseils, subsidiary of VK architects+engineers in Luxembourg

About

Betic Ingénieurs-Conseils, the subsidiary of VK architects+engineers® in Luxembourg, concluded an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of EKOplan, an engineering firm located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and specialized in technical engineering (electrotechnical installations, lighting technology, building automation, energy management, heating installations, ventilation installations, air-conditioning installations, sanitary installations) and also in water management engineering.

The acquisition protocol was signed on the 20th of September 2022, in the presence of Paul Corbeel, CEO of VK architects+engineers®, Gilles Christnach and David Determe, both managing directors of Betic Ingénieurs-Conseils and Christian Schröder, chief executive of EKOplan.

By joining Betic Ingénieurs-Conseils, which now has 84 employees, EKOplan has joined one of the leading technical engineering and sustainable construction company in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, whose name it has taken.

With this acquisition, the Consulting Engineering firm Betic, member of VK architects+engineers®, has taken a strategic leap, allowing it to:

  • strengthen its presence in Luxembourg territory to offer even more proximity to its customers. EKOplan’s current office, located in Steinheim, in the east of the country, has been retained, in addition to the current Betic Ingénieurs-Conseils offices in Dippach and Wiltz.
  • cement its reputation in the country by integrating a known office and employees, active in the country for over 25 years.
  • fulfil the ambitions of commercial development in German-language projects, via the linguistic skills of the 12 EKOplan employees.
  • offer new services and expertise to its customers, via the opportunities of synergy provided by this acquisition, particularly in the domain of water management.
  • attract new talents in the east of Luxembourg and Germany.

Christian Schröder will remain active and will monitor the projects focused on water management engineering (treatment installations, catchments, wells and sources, planning of distribution networks, regulation modules, water storage tanks, disinfection and treatment plants, etc.), as well as the commercial development of this activity.

Through this association, Betic and EKOplan are strengthening the local service that each office has been offering to their clients for over 20 years. Geographically complementary and driven by common ambitions, this collaboration has thus allowed EKOplan and Betic Ingénieurs-Conseils to continue their growth and development in Luxembourg, while supporting the growth of VK architects+engineers® on the international scale.
